The XP-61E is a long-range daytime prototype fighter developed from the legendary Northrop P-61 Black Widow night fighter.
This aircraft was a two-seater with a redesigned slender fuselage and an integrated teardrop-shaped canopy. It was armed with four .50 caliber machine guns in the nose and four 20 mm cannons under the fuselage.
